Your spirit lives in the atmosphere of Heaven. Your spirit does not know depression, fear, anxiety, defeat or any darkness, because Jesus lives in your spirit. The mind of your spirit is life, peace, worship and victory over darkness and even natural things. Let your spirit rise up and lead your soul and body into worship and dance before the Lord. Do not ever think that praise and worship is legalism. Your praise and worship are manifestations of your love, affection and honor towards Jesus and the Father. Your worship is the fast lane out of any trouble in your life.
The word "proseuchomai" in the Greek (in Thess. 5:17 and in many other places in the Bible) is translated with the word "pray". This is not a proper translation. The word "proseuchomai" means "seeking the presence of God and worshipping Him". Even the Jewish rabbis knew that they had to first seek the presence of God in worship. Then, in His presence they could ask things from God. This is also the teaching of Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament.
What apostle Paul means with his words “pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks”? He exhorts Thessalonians to live in the authority and leadership of their spirit. Your spirit is rejoicing and worshipping God all the time. Your spirit does not cease to worship. Therefore, you can subdue your soul under the worship of your spirit. Then your soul and body will be delivered from any oppression and darkness, because the Fire of the Holy Spirit will fill your soul and body with His presence.
The salvation of Jesus includes complete victory over the law of sin and death. The weapons of the enemy are destroyed. You are absolutely called to triumph over all the power of the devil. Receive the word that will produce the faith of victory in your heart. Jesus has destroyed the power of sin and death totally and forever in all areas of your life. Receive this amazing truth, rise up and rejoice and worship God!
The word "flesh" in Bible verses has two different meanings. The other meaning is a physical body of flesh. That is also dwelling place of God, because the soul and the spirit (inward man) live in the body of flesh. The wider meaning of "flesh" is a physical body of flesh and the sinful (unrenewed) part of the soul. Sometimes it is useful to distinct between these two meanings. However, you are called to reign in your life in the authority of your spirit over your soul and body.
The purpose of the law is to reveal the character of sin. In biblical terminology, sin means all adverse and destructive power and effect of darkness that has entered man because of the separation from God. Although it is unpleasant to find out the evil presence of sin in one's life, the believer has to admit that the law is good. Human flesh and unrenewed mind resist God. They are the source and channel of unbelief in your life. Your spirit is designed to rule in your life. Worshipping God is the most powerful tool to defeat unbelief and all other darkness in your life. Worship God and you will live in His Kingdom!
You can worship in your spirit continuously. There is a period of transition where your spirit is not strong enough to rule over all areas of your soul. But your spirit does not yield unto powers of darkness or any defeat. The Holy Spirit is your Helper, Comforter, Wisdom and Power in all situations. There is no temptation or no situation where you should yield unto your flesh. Take a lead by your spirit and do not return to the old life style. Your continuous and purposeful worship of God will lead you into victory. The Holy Spirit will change you irrevocably. Your spirit and soul are merged together in praise and worship. Praise and worship will become your lifestyle forever.
