The man is the trinity of the spirit, soul and body. The spirit is the innermost being of man. The spirit of man is the dwelling place of Jesus and the Father in believer. In the state of sin, the spirit is in coma, because spirit cannot live in separation from God. Your spirit receives its life from God. After your new birth your spirit received connection with God and came alive. The soul of man is designed to perform the things that the spirit desires. Your cleaned soul is happy to follow the leadership of your spirit.
The will of the person is the combination of the will of the spirit and the will of the soul. When you grow spiritually, the will of your spirit strengthens and eventually overcomes the will of your soul. Everything in your life is under your will. Even God honors your will. This is the evidence that you are created to the image of God. When your will is surrendered unto the will of Jesus, you live in His Kingdom.
You communicate with God through your spirit. With your soul you can communicate with your spirit and with your body. Through natural senses your soul communicates with your natural circumstances. After your salvation, the Holy Spirit began a transformation process, where the communication between your spirit and soul is restored. This is a profound transformation of inner man which leads into life of the Kingdom of God.
You will get better understanding of your supernatural transformation process when you study the condition of your inner man in the state of sin and in the state of son / daughter of God.
The will of the natural mind leads the man. The will receives inspiration from natural thoughts, understanding, experiences, emotions and imaginations. The wounded soul receives also inspiration from demonic powers.
The spirit is dead or in coma. The spirit cannot rule over the powers and strongholds of soul. The man is living according to the knowledge of the tree of good and evil. The spirit and soul are estranged from God and may have got into deep trouble with demonic spirits. Thus, the spirit, mind and body are captives of devil, sicknesses and condemnation.
The information coming through the natural senses from the visible and natural circumstances leads the man. He does not recognize his potential with God. The powers of darkness are oppressing him through the desires of his flesh. The man seeks the satisfaction of his flesh and trusts on visible things or demonic forces.
The spirit is oppressed under the influence of demonic forces, which rule over the soul. In this condition the man can only hope for the salvation or long after freedom from his slavery. But even in this pitiful condition, God has prepared salvation for the spirit, soul and body through Jesus.
In the condition of sin, the life of the man is controlled by the lies of the enemy. The man cannot discern his condition, God's realm or devil's realm truthfully. The world of unbeliever consists of his own wisdom, emotions, imagination, visible world and lies of darkness that he believes to be true.
The spirit is born again after being re-united with God by the Holy Spirit. The guilt, condemnation, punishment and all captivity of the soul is removed. The born again spirit is free to communicate with God. By the power of the Holy Spirit the born again spirit will arise to lead the life. The Holy Spirit will empower the spirit and bring transformation into the soul.
The powers of the soul are set under the authority of the spirit. In this way the devil will lose his dominion over the man. The highest authority of God will rule in co-operation with the man through his spirit. The Holy Spirit strengthens and grows the spirit. The truths of the Kingdom of God renew the mind into new thinking, identity, goals and values. The Holy Spirit will inspire both your spirit and soul. When you agree with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in your spirit and soul, you will live and operate in the Kingdom of God.
The controlling power coming from the mind and natural senses will lose its dominance. The will of the spirit overcomes the will of mind and flesh. The Fire of the Holy Spirit has transformed your inner man to see the Kingdom of God and obey Jesus. Your soul and body will also be happy, because Jesus your whole life with His goodness.
The Spirit of Truth and the truths of God's Kingdom will destroy the lies of the devil. You see your condition, as well as the powers of darkness, in the light of God. God shares His heart, mind, wisdom and vision with you. You are rising up in the power of the Holy Spirit and destroying the works of evil in this world.
Your inner man is restored into love relationship with God. Your spirit will renew your soul to unite with the faith of God. The revelation of the Holy Spirit will flow freely. The love of the Father is revealed in this intimate cooperation with God and covers your life.
Your victory over the old man is not a result of one miraculous moment. The victory of your "new man" will be the result of your continuous yielding to Jesus, filling with the Holy Spirit and condemning the darkness in your life. In this way, you will grow out of any bondage of darkness. In this process you learn to hate sin like God hates sin. You learn to love the light, like God likes. After this change, you will never surrender to darkness anymore. You will be a son / daughter of God, who is separated for the purposes of God only.
You need to be adamant in your pursuit after the Kingdom of God. Jesus gave us teaching, how the old man of sin will yield because of the strength of the new man of God.
Your "new man" desires to grow and eat from the Bread of Life, which is Jesus. Your "new man" desires to get meetings where you could be filled with the Holy Spirit. Your "new man" wants to study teachings of Jesus and apostles. Your "new man" wants to go to prayer meetings. But your "old man" likes to lie in his bed and satisfy lust of his flesh. But your "new creation" does not give up. Eventually your "old man" must surrender. Your "new man" takes over your life and casts your "old man".
As a result of the victory of your "new man", all your inner conflicts and fights are over. Your unity with God is restored and the Life of God flows into your life abundantly. Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit rule in your life.
